The case

The Master Control Master Chronograph has a classical appearance, sidestepping modernity and unreservedly embracing aesthetics which have been popular for generations. The 40mm case diameter proffers widespread appeal, proving suitable for a broad range of different wrist sizes including my own (circa 22cm).

This watch has a modest character, flying in the face of conspicuous consumption. However, all surfaces of its form, with the exception of some areas of the caseback, feature gleaming, polished golden planes. On some timepieces the widespread use of polished gold can appear a tad outré but, in this instance, the surface treatment befits the model wonderfully.

One reason for selecting a chronograph is that it is a useful complication, applicable to everyday life. Furthermore, a chronograph provides a magnificent interaction between watch and wearer that few other complications can surpass.
